MEssage from the Head Boy & Head Girl

Oakbank School. Letters Home below this line
Hi, we’re Lauren and Scott. Welcome to the Head Boy and Girl section of the Oakbank website. This year, we are head of the student leadership team and assisting the teaching staff in hearing your student voice. We give information at student line ups and at information evenings so we’re available to any questions you may have. The reason why Lauren and I wanted to be Head Boy and Girl is to help and support the students of Oakbank and to help make Oakbank an even better school environment for students (current and future) and to strengthen the relationship between the school and the local community. Our plans for the school are to start up a buddy program to ensure that all new students have an easily accessible source of information on all things Oakbank related.  It will also help current students to further develop their communication skills and create more links between year groups. Our long term goal for the school is to improve the school attendance and ATL (attitude to learning) percentage. Last year, although around a third of the year got 500 house points, our aim is to decrease the amount of negatives to make more people get over the 500 hundred mark. As a challenge for the people who got there last year, we will be setting up an award for people who get 1000 house points. We hope you enjoy your time at Oakbank.

Scott Mann (Head Boy) and Lauren Hemmings (Head Girl)
